Acrylic Partial Dentures
What are Acrylic Partial Dentures?
Acrylic partial dentures are realistic-looking and ideal for patients who are missing enough of their own teeth to warrant wearing a prosthetic appliance. These partials are comfortable and snap easily onto the surrounding teeth. They can last for up to a decade and look great every day. At the Bastrop Denture & Implant Center, we are able to make customized acrylic partial dentures for our patients and their oral healthcare needs.
Why would you need Acrylic Partial Dentures?
The reason you’d need a partial is because you’re currently missing many of your own teeth. Rather than remove the rest of your teeth, we can simply make and place a new denture. This partial is great because it replaces just the teeth that are missing. It blends beautifully into the rest of your smile so that it does not look out of place.
What makes someone a candidate for Acrylic Partial Dentures?
At the Bastrop Denture & Implant Center, our doctors will evaluate your smile to determine if a partial is necessary. Patients who want to replace a lot of their teeth and who don’t necessarily want implants can benefit from these types of prosthetic appliances. The partial is easy to wear and can last a long time. They are easy to care for at home as well, and they should be removed nightly to be cleaned and stored away.
What happens during the procedure to make Acrylic Partial Dentures?
First, our doctors will take impressions of your existing teeth. These molds are used to make the new acrylic partial denture that you’ll be wearing. You will come back into the office after about a week so that the partial can be made for you. We will fit the partial over your teeth to see if it is comfortable for you. We can make minor adjustments to it as needed. You should remove the partial nightly so that you can thoroughly clean and store it away.
